Our Plan for Fitness
1. Midway Middle School students spend 25 minutes each day walking.
- In nice weather, walking is outdoors in the nice wooded setting. Three laps around our school is equal to one mile. Each students walks about two laps per day which is equivalent to about three miles per week.
- In inclement or extreme cold or heat, the student do their walking in the gymnasium.
2. The Healthy Living Plan has been implemented by Mrs. Jackson two years ago and the students really enjoy it and look forward to it daily.
Aerobics: Every Tuesday and Thursday Evenings
Every Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning on January 8th, an aerobics class will be held at the Luminary United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Ten Mile at 6:30 pm.
Tuesday evenings: Step and Tone
Thursday evenings: Circuit Training
These FREE classes are open to all...and are co-ed. Instructor Vickie Beard provides the free leadership as a community outreach. Both Vickie and her husband Mike provide daily classes at the YMCA in Knoxville and are fun energetic people.
